Product-Specific Training Requirement
Over the course of 2011, several state
insurance departments have adopted the
National Association of Insurance
Commissioners (NAIC) 2010 Suitability in
Annuity Transactions Model Regulation
(“Annuity Suitability Regulation”),
including one or more states that you are
currently licensed to conduct business.
The annuity suitability regulations have
many specific requirements, mostly
ensuring that annuity transactions are
suitable and that producers selling
annuity products have adequate knowledge
of annuities.
The adoption of the Annuity Suitability
Regulation requires producers, prior to
solicitation of annuity products, to
complete carrier provided product
specific training and to complete a
one-time, four (4) credit hour and state
approved annuity training course. In
addition, producers are required to use
a revised suitability profile form.
With the launch of the
NEW Interest Rate Benchmark Strategy
being offered on the Secure Series
products, producers are required to take
updated annuity product training prior
to solicitation of a product in which
the
NEW Interest Rate Benchmark Strategy
is available for election. This new
strategy will be available for
solicitation
August 15, 2011 and this
one-time additional training is
available through
September 15, 2011

addendum to the ING
annuity product training you previously
